Comptroller Onyeka Strengthens Partnership with Sister Agencies, Emphasizes Prioritisation of National Security

The Customs Area Controller, Tin Can Island Port Customs Command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, has stressed the importance of prioritizing national security and fostering stronger collaboration among all security agencies to ensure a safe and prosperous nation.
Onyeka made this submission when he received the Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Badagry, Navy Captain Omotayo Busuyi Oyeleye, in a courtesy visit to his office.
The CAC stated that while the primary functions of the Tincan Island Port Customs Command include revenue generation, trade facilitation, and combating smuggling, building robust cooperation with other security agencies is crucial in deterring criminal activities at the seaport. He underlined that such actions are vital for the country’s national development.
He as well commended the Nigerian Navy for its consistent efforts in providing maritime security and preventing sea robberies.
On his part, Captain Oyeleye, acknowledged the significant contributions of the Nigerian Customs Service in joint patrols, highlighting Customs’ pivotal role in the success of collaborative operations.
In a separate development, Comptroller Onyeka paid a visit to the Controllers of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) at both the PTML and Tin Can Island Commands.
During the visit held at the Quarantine office, Tin Can, he reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing collaboration and integration, aimed at strengthening the synergy between Customs and Quarantine Services for more effective operations.
