Comptroller Adelaja Enhances Interagency Collaboration in Oyo State

The Customs Area Controller for the Oyo/Osun Command, Comptroller Joseph Olugbuyi Adelaja, led a delegation of senior officers on a courtesy visit to key agencies in Oyo State.
The visit aimed to strengthen interagency collaboration and reaffirm his commitment to fostering cooperation between the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and other security and regulatory bodies in the region.
During his visit, Comptroller Adelaja met with officials from the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
In his discussions with these agencies, he expressed his appreciation for their essential roles in national security, border protection, and public safety.
At the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Immigration Service, Comptroller Adelaja emphasized the importance of working together to improve border security, maintain national safety, and enhance operational efficiency.
He highlighted the Nigeria Customs Service’s core functions, which include revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling efforts, and stressed the importance of continued cooperation with fellow security agencies to strengthen these areas.
The Comptroller also called for increased collaboration in joint training programs, coordinated border operations, and enhanced intelligence sharing to ensure the country’s security and economic stability.
At NAFDAC, Comptroller Adelaja commended the agency for its vital role in ensuring public health and safety. He particularly praised NAFDAC’s efforts in regulating the circulation of pharmaceutical products, food items, and other essential goods.
He reiterated the Customs Service’s commitment to supporting NAFDAC’s regulatory work and fostering strong partnerships for the benefit of national well-being.
In response, the General Officer Commanding of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Controller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Zonal Director of NAFDAC all expressed their full support for continued collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service. They assured Comptroller Adelaja of their collective dedication to strengthening interagency cooperation to enhance the security and prosperity of the nation.
This visit highlights the ongoing efforts to promote synergy between key national agencies, reinforcing the shared commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and ensuring public safety.
