UNCTAD Rolls out ASYCUDA 4.4 to Deepen Global Trade Facilitation
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has launched the version 4.4 of the Associated System for Custom Data (ASYCUDAWorld) to deepen trade facilitation around the world through improved capabilities in Customs operations.
The ASYCUDAWorld 4.4 software provides an enhanced automation platform which allows for 100 per cent cross border trade processing.
The Director of Technologies and Logistics at UNCTAD, Mr. Shamika Sirimanne, said that the ASYCUDAWorld 4.4 which is the newest ASYCUDA model “brings cutting edge IT capabilities to make international trade more reliable and secure.
Sirimanne explained that “the upgrade complies with International standards, follow best practice and was made in collaboration with user countries.”
As part of its benefits, the ASYCUDAWorld 4.4 also helps government identify and mitigate fraud in clearance processes, provides an integrated and automated system of trade facilitation, improve trade data collections across air and land spaces and allows third parties to add supporting documents to bill of lading electronically.
With 38 developed countries and 23 developing countries subscribed to the ASYCUDAWorld 4.4 model, the new model promises increased efficiency in global cross border trade processing.
